In 2014, a devastating hailstorm struck Colorado Springs, leaving a historic property with a one-of-a-kind roof severely damaged. The project presented a daunting challenge: an incredibly steep pitch paired with a rare, gradient tile pattern. After five contractors declined the project, Steve, owner of Severy Creek Roofing, stepped in to preserve the home’s architectural integrity.
Steve’s commitment to historical accuracy led him to discover that the original Ludowici Tiles were still being handcrafted. Collaborating with material experts and the master artisans at the last remaining Ludowici plant in Ohio, he successfully commissioned custom tiles that perfectly matched the original surface texture, warp pattern, and complex color variations. By pairing period-correct materials with an elite, detail-oriented crew, Steve has solidified Severy Creek Roofing as a premier resource for Colorado’s most challenging and historic restoration projects.
